Andrzej is wheelchair-bound. He could not go to any of his local theaters until recently because none had elevators or ramps and the doors were too narrow. One of the theaters has recently been retrofitted and is now fully accessible to people in wheelchairs. Andrzej made his dream come true: he took his girlfriend to the theater.

In the Citizens for Democracy programme:
– 205 architectural, transport and online portal projects were audited for disability access facilities;
– 60 non-government organisations were involved in developing an Alternative Evaluation Report on the implementation by the Polish government of the UN Convention on the rights of disabled people;
– 2 003 people with disabilities received mental, legal and/or welfare support.
